Now that I’ve gotten your attention–and raised some eyebrows at my choice of greeting–I bring you today’s photo. While it may not be of gorgeous foliage (it’s a bit too early in the season for that here in sunny South Carolina), the chill in the quiet air on the morning I took this photo had a distinct feeling of Autumn. This beautiful sunrise was taken in Aroda, VA, which is about 30 minutes outside Charlottesville (go Cavaliers!) in front of a family friend’s home.
This image reminded me of a quote from E.M. Forster: “What is the good of your stars and trees, your sunrise and the wind, if they do not enter into our daily lives?”
It’s a reminder to take in the things that surround you. Don’t forget to pause for a moment, even when life is crazy and you feel like you barely have time to breathe. Whether it’s a sunrise, the trees, or the night sky, take a break today and notice the beauty of your surroundings.
